This is the first year that my wife Analise and I will be living in Colorado. We spent the last three and two years respectively living and working in Salt Lake City, Utah. I was a full time graduate assistant at the University of Utah and graduated in May with my masters in music education. At Utah, I worked in the school of music with the Athletic Bands, including the Marching, Pep, and Volleyball Bands. I also co-conducted the Symphonic Band and guest lectured and facilitated several undergraduate music education courses.
Before I went to Utah, I worked in the Albuquerque Public School District for two years as a band and orchestra director after graduating from the University of New Mexico in 2013. My two instruments of choice are clarinet and saxophone. I took lessons and performed on both of those instruments at the University of Utah and University of New Mexico in various ensembles.
In my spare time I like to read up on history, I'm a big Civil War and WWII history nut especially. I enjoy cooking with my wife and hiking with her and our collie Zia. I also enjoy visiting family in Minneapolis, Minnesota whenever I can. And I'm a die hard Packers fan (don't tell that to my principal!). I'm very thankful to be apart of the Cherry Drive Elementary family and am looking forward to having a great year teaching music, especially because this will be my first foray teaching choir.
