***REMOTE LEARNING UPDATE:***
Here is a letter to help guide families through our remote learning.
Hi 2nd Grade Families!
We miss all of you so much and hope this letter finds you healthy, happy and able to spend time with your family.
We understand how chaotic and uncertain this time is. Please know we are here to support your child’s growth, learning and happiness to the best of our abilities.
We have spent time planning to support you and your family’s needs, not overwhelm your child, we want them to continue making progress toward our first grade standards. We know many of you are still working, even from home, and need time to yourself. Our hope is to equip kids with supports (familiar activities, guided lessons and video learning) to independently engage in work time. Each week students will have assignments to complete and submit.
Here is some of the information that will help you get started with remote learning:
Email: Please check your email daily for remote learning updates and for zoom links for office hours.
Learning Platform: We will post a learning board with all activities for the week in seesaw. Please submit all work through seesaw.
Apps: Students will also use apps such as: Waterford, EPIC, eSpark, RaZ Kids, Freckle, etc.
Attendance: We will post a week's worth of work at a time. Learning Boards will be posted every Monday for the week. Please work on the activities throughout the week (about 60 minutes per day). Attendance will be taken at the end of the week on Friday, and it will be based on assignment completion and submission. Learning remotely is intended to be independent and so we are not expecting all kids to be learning at the same time and at the same pace throughout the week. The goal is for students to engage in the learning that fits your families schedule.
Grades: Grades will be recorded in the Infinite Campus gradebook and your students' work may reflect the following: Feedback, A Completion Check Symbol or a Numerical Grade 1-4.
Office Hours: These are the times we are available to do a zoom video conference and/or respond to email. We will also check and respond to work in seesaw throughout the day.
Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 9-10am and 1-2 pm
Tuesday, Thursday: 8-9 am and 2-3 pm
Daily Lunch and Read Aloud: 11:30-12:00
Extensions: This is a link to extension activities should you and your child want to try some other fun learning!
