First Grade

Welcome to first grade at Cherry Drive! We are excited to work with you and your child. First grade is a year full of growth, both academically and emotionally. This year we will be using the new district Benchmark Education   curriculum in literacy, Everyday Math 4 curriculum for math, and other district curriculum for writing, social studies, and science. These subjects are the core to meeting all of the students educational needs and our state standards.  

Our school is dedicated to also working with our students Social and Emotional well being. Some tools we use to assist with emotional regulation throughout the day are the Zones of Regulation. We also have a school wide PAWS (Positive, Attitude, With Respect and Safety) system and use an SEL program called Second Step to help with student social and emotional skills.

We are excited to learn and grow with your students this year and look forward to making lots of memories.
