Gifted & Talented

Universal Screening: In Adams 12 Five Star Schools, all 2nd and 6th-graders who are not already identified as Gifted and Talented (GT) participate in Universal Screening. This is one way we look for students who may qualify for GT services. At our school:

• All 2nd-grade students will take the Universal Screener during the regular school day.

• Screening will take place Wednesday, September 17, through Friday, September 19, 2025.

GT Recommendation Process:  Any student can participate in the GT identification process through a Body of Evidence, which may include test scores, teacher input, and other measures. This process can begin with a parent, staff, or student recommendation.

If you would like to nominate a kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, 4th, or 5th-grade student for testing, please complete the Parent Request for Nomination Form by Wednesday, October 8, 2025.

• You do not need to submit this form if your child is in 2nd grade or is already identified as Gifted and Talented.

Important dates for the GT Recommendation process at our school:

• September 17-19, 2025 - Universal Screener for 2nd grade
• October 8, 2025 - Nomination Form Due
• November 13, 14, 17, 2025 - All grades testing - Nomination form must be filled out by 10/8/25

Our school offerings include:

• Each GT student has an Affective Goal within their Advanced Learning Plan (ALP). Students are interview by their teacher  to create an affective goal on their ALP.
