April/May 2018 Newsletter

Dear Cherry Drive Families,

Happy Spring! It’s amazing how much your children have grown this year! I hope that you all had a restful and enoyable Spring Break! We have just begun our state testing (CMAS) and the students are doing great! Thank you for your cooperation in getting them to school on time and ensuring that they arrived having eaten a good breakfast and ready to show the state their incredible knowledge! We appreciate all your help and cooperation with this State assessment!

We are looking forward to our upcoming “Celebration of Learning” which will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018. Please bring your child to their classroom on May 10th between the hours of 4:30-6:30pm, and your child will share with you what he or she has learned this year! You will be so proud! Please feel free to visit with all of our teachers at our Celebration of Learning. Our teachers love seeing their students from their classrooms last year, and they look forward to meeting with students that might be in their classes in the upcoming school year. We all look forward to celebrating with you and our students their accomplishments!

On May 22nd we will be having our annual 5th Grade Continuation at Skate City in Arvada from 10:30am-1:30pm. Please be on the look out for more information coming home soon from your fifth grade teachers. We hope that you will be able to join us in celebrating our 5th grader’s accomplishments and wishing them well as they begin their journey into middle school.

On the last day of school, May 23rd, we will be having Field Day. We look so forward to this event every year! Please remember that this is a family event and we hope you will join us for all the fun! Siblings are welcome to come and watch but due to liability issues are not able to participate. Also, we too love our furry friends but please keep all dogs and other pets at home as they are not allowed on school grounds for the safety of our students and their families. If you know that you will be attending Field Day please call our main office at 720-972-5300 and give us your name so that we can print you a visitor sticker for this day ahead of time. This will ensure that you avoid waiting in a long line on the day of. More information will be sent home on this even soon.

A couple of important dates to remember coming up are May 4th, which is Assessment Day and May 11th, which is a teacher work day. There is no school for Students on either day.
