Dear Cherry Drive Families,

I hope that you all have had a chance to enjoy the changing of the seasons and the crisp fall air!!! Those mountain tree's are sure beautiful with their changing leaves!

It was wonderful having all of our Cherry Drive families attend our Learning Café evening. It was truly an awesome experience to watch your children share their school day with their families.

We have many exciting events happening in October! We will be having our annual Fall Festival on October 13, 2018 from 12:00-2:30 PM. Join us for games, food, silent auction, cake walk, Trunk or Treating, Bouncy House and much, much more for the whole family! We still need many volunteers to make this a success. If you are interested in helping us with this spectacular family event, please contact us at 720-972-5301 or email Courtney at courtney.l.brecht@adams12.org. We try to get AS MANY cars to hand out candy, so if you are interested in decorating your car/trunk for this event please let us know!!

We will also be having our Wellness adventure on, October 31, 2017. More information on this event will be coming home soon.

Our Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on October 11th from 7:30am- 7:30pm. Please be sure that you have scheduled a 20-minute time slot. If you are unsure about your conference time, please check with your child’s teacher or call our main office. We look forward to sharing your child’s progress with you!

Please remember that there will be no school on October 12th due to a teacher work day.

Thanks to all our families for helping us with our Big Kahuna Fall Fundraiser. Our students did an incredible job selling items and raising money! This money is going to be used to offset some of the cost of field trips, and activities for our students, as well as many other wonderful things for Cherry Drive. This was a huge success and we want to thank all of you for your unwavering support!

We look so forward to your participation in our October events!

Very sincerely,

Tina Hepp

UIP Parent/Guardian Letter

October 1, 2019

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Pursuant to the Education Accountability Act of 2009, all public schools in Colorado are required to develop unified improvement plans that outline targets for performance outcomes and strategies that the school will implement to achieve academic improvement. Schools may be required to implement a performance plan, improvement plan, priority improvement plan, or turnaround plan. Based on results from the Colorado School Performance Framework, Cherry Drive Elementary will be required to develop a Improvement  plan during the 2018-19 school year.

The school was assigned to this plan type based on performance not meeting state expectations in the area(s) of Academic Achievement and Academic Growth.  Our overall School Performance Rating was 49.7 for the 2017-2018 school year. Which gave us the rating of Improvement. In order to be a Performance school we needed to have 53% over all.  Our academic growth was at 50% so we received the rating of approaching.

The district is required to submit Cherry Drive’s unified improvement plan to the Colorado Department of Education on or before  April 14, 2019]. To meet that deadline, the plan will be developed according to the following timeline:Our meeting dates for conducting analysis and developing plans, participation in district trainings and final adoption of plan are,  September 25, October 23, November 27, February 26, April 23.

Our professional development days are every Wed. from 1:30-3:15 for the 2018-2019 school year. Prior to adopting a plan, Cherry Drive will hold a public hearing on December 10, 2018 issued for schools submitting an improvement plan. For more information, please contact Tina Hepp at 720-972-5300 if you have any questions.

Sincerely

Tina Hepp
