The 19-20 school year marks my fifth year at Cherry Drive Elementary School. I love being a Cheetah and working with such caring, passionate, and dedicated, educator and administrators. I am committed to helping all of our students reach their full potential in school and to make amazing memories from these formative years. I am passionate about the intersection of academics and the social emotional needs of all students. I believe in using a whole child apporach when helping students and that each student matters and is unique with his/her own set of strengths and needs. I love to help students acquire vital social, problem-solving, self-advoacy, and cooperative skills to be the most successful young scholars and citizens that they may be. Each day families welcome their students into our hallways and I feel so lucky to be an extension of this community and family. It is a pleasure to work with our parents at Cherry Drive as well. Before finding my home at Cherry Drive, I worked as an in-home therapist with teenagers and their families, a social worker in a hospital setting, and I worked as a program director with school-aged youth at an arts-integrated violence prevention program. I received my Masters in Social Work at Colorado State University and my bachelors at Binghamton University. Binghamton University is in my home state of New York. I'm a NYC native and love chatting about the Big Apple. I'm also a member of our Instructional Leadership Team, the Wellness Team leader and Kindness Club leader at Cherry Drive and I'm a certified children's yoga instructor. In my free time I love to do yoga, hike, snowboard, dance, travel, and spend time with my husband, son, and my dog.
