Position: Social Worker
I am so excited for the start of the 2016-2017 school year. This year is going to be invigorating and filled with learning, teamwork, and growth. This is my third year as the school social worker at Cherry Drive and my Cheetah family is of utmost importance to me. I believe in viewing each child as an individual and looking at the "whole child" when it comes to learning and developing. I love to help students acquire vital social, problem-solving, self-advoacy, and cooperative skills to be the most successful young scholars and citizens that they may be. Before finding my home at Cherry Drive, I worked as an in-home therapist with teenagers and their families, as a social worker in a hospital setting, and I worked as a program director with school-aged youth at an arts-integrated violence prevention program. I received my masters at Colorado State University and my bachelors at Binghamton University. Binghamton University is in my home state of New York. I'm a NYC native and love chatting about the Big Apple. I'm also the wellness team leader at Cherry Drive and I'm a certified children's yoga instructor. In my free time I love to do yoga, hike, snowboard, dance, travel, and spend time with my husband and my dog.
