I am excited to become an official member of the Cheetah family as one of the School Social Workers! The 19-20 school year allowed me the opportunity to intern at Cherry Drive and I fell in love with working with the culture, staff and of course the amazing students and families. I am passionate about working with students to help them reach their full potential through individualized and child centered approaches. I love bringing fun, games and art into my work to help students acquire social, emotional, problem-solving and collaborative skills to help them thrive in their classrooms. I graduated this past May with my Masters in Social Work from Metropolitan State University of Denver, and received my bachelors in Psychology from MSU Denver as well (GO ROADRUNNERS). I completed two internships with Adams 12 at Hillcrest Elementary and Cherry Drive during my Masters program and feel at home in Adams 12. Prior to this school year, I worked for 8 years at a residential treatment facility as a paraprofessional, trainer and admissions coordinator. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and children, getting lost in a good book, watching football (Broncos and Buffs!!!!) and spending the summer on the lake with my family.
