I am so excited to be teaching 5th grade again! This is going to be a great year!
A little about me...I graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1996 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I received my Master's degree in Technology from Lesley University in 2005. I have been very fortunate to teach at Cherry Drive for 21 years! This is my seventh year teaching 5th grade and have taught every grade but Kindergarten. In 2007 I was chosen as the Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year. It was such an honor! In my spare time, I love to read. I also love to travel and spend time with my family and our dog.
I believe that all children can learn; they just need the right tools. I believe that education and learning should be fun, challenging and exciting. I want all children to develop a love of learning. This year we will use cooperative learning, technology, and hands-on activities to inspire and motivate. I will always do my part to encourage and support every student on their educational journey. I believe it’s important for families, students, and teachers to work together to help every student be the best they can be!
